Usually, window cleaning requires a vacuum, microfiber cloths and gentle cleaning products. Before starting the task, remove window treatments like curtains, drapes or blinds. Open your windows to help their components dry properly.
Cleaning the Window
Do your windows have screens? If so, remove and clean them using a soft bristle brush and soapy water. Allow them to dry completely before putting them back.
The next step is to vacuum the window tracks and wipe the remaining dirt with soapy water and a microfiber cloth. You can remove persistent buildups with a cotton swab dipped in white vinegar.
Placing a cloth at the base of the window will protect the frame from dripping water and cleaning solution. When cleaning the glass, start from the top going down. You can determine if the surface has stains by wiping one of its sides horizontally and the other vertically.
Finishing Up
After washing your windows, dry the sills with a clean cloth to protect the frame material and finish. Once the units have completely dried, place back your screens and window coverings.
